Precinct 2 has noticed an increase in thefts from businesses that have fleet vehicles and mechanic shops. Suspects are stealing the catalytic converters from vehicles on at vehicle shops or businesses that have numerous fleet vehicles.

Typically the thefts occur in the rear of the businesses. I would recommend that vehicles be left in a lit area or moved to an area that is visible from the street.

The catalytic converters are being sold at recycling locations for their titanium.
